What's New?

August 2, 2010
Dear relatives & friends,
July was hot and humid. Normally northern Michigan receives a two or three weeks of hot & humid weather during the entire summer, but this month was really humid. So much so that Gary didn't get most of his outside work done, but joined Beegle in the house in the air conditioning.
Speaking of Beegle, he continues to do well, although he has to go under the knife again to remove a couple of growths from his side that have ulcerated. At almost 14, they are being removed because of nuisance problems, rather than for health. Hopefully he will come out of the operation in good shape as he is really very healthy for almost 14.
Bev survived the 4th of July and is now working on the Boats N Floats parade on Black Lake coming in a few days. Then it will be the annual Onaway Sportsman's Show coming in November, but much work remains to be done until then. Hopefully, this will be the year that she gets to go south for a month or two for rest, relaxation and away from the cold and ice of another northern Michigan winter.
The Broughams did manage to get a way for a couple of days in the motorhome. Just went over to the lake property for some relaxation away from the phones and tv. Saw a couple of the boats in the Port Huron to Mackinac sailboat race pass by, but due to weather and winds, most of the boats took a route further from the American Shore and out of our sight. Still it was a rather nice weekend that was very relaxing.
Not too much going on up here worth reporting so we will close for this month.
Take Care
