Dear relatives & friends,
January finally brought some snow and cold temps. In fact, we exceeded our average snowfall for the month by about 2", but this area of Michigan is still way behind our norm for the year. We received a small cold snap which sent the temps below zero for a few nights, but on the whole, January was an above average temperature for the month. Some areas reaching record highs into the upper 50s. We will take the warm weather, although the consensus is that we will pay this spring.
Bev finally got to take her long awaited trip to the Caribbean to attend the wedding of her niece. She spent a week there with her daughter and really enjoyed the time in the sun with Kelly. The two don't get much time together and it was very enjoyable and the resort was inexpensive but very nice. Who knows, they just might take that trip again.
Gary took his monthly trip to Cheboygan for his McDonald's Happy Meal. What a diappointment. Because of sodium and weight concerns, he limits himself to one Happy Meal a month. Well nobody told him that McD's have changed the Happy Meal Format, but it has also gone up 10 cents in price. Imagine his surprise when his long awaited french fries came and there were only 6 ff in the box. Something about 'healthier kids'. Oh well, now there is no reason to go to McDs. Now he has to find something else to look forward to every month.
Beegle is doing ok. He needs more attention as his bladder is weaker and his back quarters are getting weaker, making it harder for him to get up from a prone position, but he still has lots of life in him and at times the puppy still there and comes out. As long as he keeps trying, we will also.
